About Teak

Why Teak?

Teak has the greatest ability of any wood to withstand the elements. Due to the oil and rubber found naturally in the wood, it has the ability to resist splintering, warping and rotting. That is why it is the preferred choice for boats, aircraft carriers and our furniture!

Beware!

Some companies only sell pre-oiled teak, which is generally third grade wood, oiled to hide defects. Also, our bench slats are generally thicker than most and are commercial grade. Ask our competitors for referrals, how long they have been in business, etc. Are they a legitimate furniture business or just a virtual “internet” store with a fancy website?

  • Indonesian Teak is much denser and weighs more.

All of our furniture is delivered fully assembled. Kits that other companies sell can be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to assemble, regardless of what you are told, and one mistake with a dowel or glue and you’ve got an unstable table for life!
